Dual Enrollment Admissions
Dual Enrollment provides high school students with the opportunity to take college
courses for both college and high school credit. Students interested in Dual Enrollment
are encouraged to talk with their high school counselor as early as possible to ensure
all deadlines are met. Students should be aware that college courses are typically
more rigorous than high school courses and move at a faster pace. Also, Dual Enrollment
courses result in real college credit and the grades become a part of the student's
permanent college record. Grades earned through Dual Enrollment can assist with future
eligibility for college admission and scholarships as well as high school graduation.
The Dual Enrollment Mentoring Organization (D.E.M.O.) commits to excellence by cultivating mentors and mentees who thrive in advancing the brand of Albany State University. We stand strongly on our motto Dynamic University Academic Leaders (D.U.A.L.) by offering a holistic experience for dual enrollment (DE) students by demonstrating and encouraging Golden RAM success and progress starting in high school. This is achieved by matching DE students (mentees) with undergraduate/graduate student (mentors) to assist with the transition and acclimation to college life and ASU.
Mentors: Undergraduates at ASU (former DE, Joint Enrollment, or Early College students) serving as peer coaches who champion student success and the smooth acclimation of DE students to ASU with influential leadership and guidance. Click to apply to be a mentor.

*Please note that the membership fee per semester is $10 which aids with D.E.M.O events, fundraisers, and giveaways.

- High school students attending a public, private, or home study program in Georgia can participate in the Dual Enrollment (DE) Program.
- Students may enroll in up to 15 hours of approved classes for the Dual Enrollment (DE) Program.
- The parent/guardians of 9th graders must complete an Acknowledgment of Financial Responsibility Form.
- 10th graders must meet Zell Miller Requirements or these students’ parent/guardians must
complete an Acknowledgment of Financial Responsibility Form.

- Apply to Albany State University at www.gafutures.org as a dual enrollment student.
- High school academic GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Submit an official transcript of secondary credits completed to date and evidence that the student is on track with college preparatory curriculum. Submit to dualenrollment@asurams.edu
- Students must also submit PreACT, ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer test scores that meet the following minimum standards. Applicants may take the ACCUPLACER witht he Testing Center.
5. Complete Dual Erollment Funding Application in GAfuture.org - This includes the Parent
Participation Agreement.
6. Home study programs within the State of Georgia must operate in accordance with O.C.G.A. §20-2-690(c)
Requirments for Class Registration:
- Submit Immunization Records to dualenrollment@asurams.edu OR send an email to admissions@asurams.edu authorizing access to your immunization records through GRITS.
- Verification of Lawful Presence – Submit one of the following documents to verify your lawful presence:
- A Certified U.S. Birth Certificate showing the student was born in the U.S. or a U.S. territory (a photocopy is not acceptable)
- A U.S. Certificate of Naturalization (USCIS form N‐550 or N‐570)
- A U.S. Certificate of Citizenship (USCIS form N‐560 or N‐561)
- A U.S. Certificate of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State (DS‐350) or a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (FS‐240)
- A current U.S. Passport
- A current Driver’s License issued by the State of Georgia after January 1, 2008

- Submit Home Study Declaration of Intent to Dual Enrollment Coordinator
- Please complete the ASU School Admissions Portfolio here.
- A Dual Enrollment Funding Application must be completed each School Year before registering for classes by the following deadlines:
- Fall: August 1st
- Spring: January 1st
- Summer: May 15th

- The Dual Enrollment Course Directory shows the classes you are eligible to enroll in.
- Courses must be discussed with your high school counselor and guardian and be listed on your Dual Enrollment Funding Application prior to registration appointment.
- Fall and summer pre-registration usually begins in April, and Spring pre-registration usually begins in November.
- Registration ends during the add/drop schedule adjustment period of first week of classes
- Look at the Class Schedule to determine course availability along with days/times

- GA Futures Dual Enrollment Funding Application - Can be found on GA Futures and will need to be submitted by the student each year of enrollment. Deadlines for each semester are below as follows:
- Fall: August 1st
- Spring: January 1st
- Summer: May 15th

- Pick up your books – Required books for approved Dual Enrollment courses are provided as rentals to students. Students are able to get their books from the Bookstore one week prior to the start of classes
